HyperTAC II offers you two options for viewing historical data on any telemetry point - Trend Viewer and Trend Builder. Both of these tools enable you to view up to four trends simultaneously in four separate panes on the screen, view up to 12 trends overlaid in a single pane on the screen, increase and decrease the trend's time range, and move forward and backward in time.

Trend Viewer, accessed through the HyperTACII browser, enables you to create view-only (cannot be saved) trends and to view trends that have been created and saved using the Trend Builder application.

Trend Builder enables you to build and save trends that may be accessed frequently for analysis. When you save a trend in Trend Builder, a link is created in Trend Viewer (the link name is the file name you assigned to the trend when you saved it). These saved trends can be opened at any time from HyperTAC II's Trend Viewer by clicking on the link.

The interfaces and features of Trend Builder and Trend Viewer are almost identical. Differences are noted where applicable.

Trend Builder's and Trend Viewer's user interfaces are composed of the following:

Menu Toolbar (Trend Builder only) - Features the File, Trend and Help menus.

The File menu features commands for:

• Creating a new trend
• Opening an existing trend file (login is required)
• Saving a trend
• Removing a trend from the HyperTAC II server
• Displaying a gray grid behind each trend (will also appear when the trend is printed)
• Opening or closing the Control Panel
• Printing the active trend
• Exiting Trend Builder.

The Trend menu features commands for:

• Setting the high and low engineering limits for the current trend (analog points only).
• Setting the color of the current trend line.
• Setting the (engineering) value and color of the current trend's low reference line and high reference line (analog points only).*

* Reference lines give you a point of reference for the trend. They enable you to see how close the point's current value is to its low or high limit.

Display Window - Area where trends are displayed. Display window is segmented into equal viewing areas depending on the number of trends that have been created.

• Point Name and Address are displayed at the top of each segment.
• High and Low engineering values (Analog and Virtual points) or On and Off labels (Digital points) are displayed to the left of each segment.
• Trend Time Span or Trend Start Time is displayed in the lower left corner of the Display window.
• Current Time or Trend End Time is displayed in the lower right corner of the Display window.
• Current Value of the point is displayed to the right of the trend.
• Reference Lines (if configured from Color menu) are displayed on the trend at their corresponding values.

Control Panel Button – Click this button (circled in red below) to open or close the Control Panel.

Control Panel – Point addresses and trend variables are entered here. From this panel, you can:

• Select up to 12 points to trend (select a Trend number and then browse to the Point Address).
• Select how to display the trends: One - show only the selected trend; All - show trends 1-4 in separate panes; Overlay - show all trends (up to 12) in one pane.
• Select the Range of values (upper and lower values to display) for the trend.
• Smooth the trend (analog points only). Smoothed trends display a more gradual transition between sampled values.
• Zoom (increase or decrease the length of time to display)
• Pan (move backward or forward in time).

Message Bar (Trend Builder Only) – Displays messages, such as prompting messages and error messages, that provide you with additional information and instructions on Trend Builder functions. When using Trend Viewer, messages appear in the browser's status bar.
