SQL Database

The Hyper SCADA Server incorporates an SQL database back-end that is based on the database server engine MySQL. MySQL allows external ODBC capable applications to query the Hyper SCADA Server's database for current status and "set" control points.

MySQL is the world's most popular Open Source Database, designed for speed, power and precision in mission critical, heavy load use. The MySQL database server embodies an ingenious software architecture that maximizes speed and customization ability. Extensive reuse of pieces of code within the software and an ambition to produce minimal but functionally rich features have resulted in a database management system unmatched in speed, compactness, stability and ease of deployment. The unique separation of the core server from the table handler makes it possible to run MySQL under strict transaction control or with ultra-fast transaction-less disk access, whichever is most appropriate for the situation.

MySQL provides the ability to easily and quickly export data for use in other applications. These applications include ESRI's ArcView GIS and Crystal Reports, as well as generic tools like Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and Lotus, and more specialized statistical and mathematical analysis applications.
